Sussex Inlet RSL sub-Branch
Proudly serving our veterans and their families.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow,
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them
Lest we forget
Sussex Inlet RSL sub-Branch is a registered charity and member of the RSL NSW movement.
We aim to support currently serving and ex-service veterans and their families through welfare, well-being, commemoration and education activities throughout the year in the local area.
We commemorate those who have served, while honouring their bravery and sacrifices.
Our goal is to create a sense of community by coordinating commemorative activities and providing essential information to our members.
Join us in our mission to pay tribute and uphold the values of service.

Serving Our Community
1
Our Purpose
Community Building:
We aim to help build on and foster a sense of community amongst our members and the greater community. Our sub-Branch activities help to provide essential information and support to the veteran community, often at a time when isolation and hardship are having their greatest impact.
Our members include avid lawn bowlers and golfers, who represent the sub-Branch. Others are keen on fishing, boating, and various other activities in the area.
Welfare & Wellbeing:
Our sub-Branch team visits many members at their homes or in the hospital, delivering meals and mobility aides, or just lending an ear. This service helps many less-able veterans and their families stay in contact with the world.
Pensions / DVA / Legacy:
Members of our sub-Branch are able to point you in the right direction when it comes to questions about pensions, or help linking you in with DVA.
Legacy is active in our local community, and anyone interested in nominating to be a Legatees is encouraged.
The Shoalhaven Veteran and Family Hub, only a stone's throw away in Nowra. Please reach out to the sub-Branch or directly with the Hub if you’d like to find out what's available.

Commemoration
ANZAC Day:
Sussex Inlet RSL sub-Branch hosts several commemoration activities on ANZAC Day, including a Dawn Service at the War Memorial, a March along Jacobs Drive, which steps off at 10am, and this is followed by a commemoration service at the RSL Club Memorial.
Combined Commemoration Service:
Sussex Inlet sub-Branch holds a combined commemoration service each year on 18 August, Vietnam Veterans’ Day.
On this day, we recognise Vietnam Veterans’ Day, National Servicemens’ Day, Korean War Ceasefire Day, VP Day, Peacekeepers and veterans of the Middle East Area of Operations.
Remembrance Day:
We commemorate Remembrance Day on 11 November. The date is the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice of 1918 that ended fighting in World War I.
On this day, we commemorate all those who have died or suffered in wars, conflicts and peace operations.
Our sub-Branch hosts a commemoration service each year to mark this important anniversary.

How You Can Help
Volunteer / Membership:
Our sub-Branch relies solely on its generous volunteers who donate their time to further our cause.
Current and ex-service members are encouraged to consider joining our sub-Branch, and non-service members may consider joining the sub-Branch Auxiliary whose members are vital to everything we do to support our veteran community.
Join us in our mission to pay tribute to those who have served, continue to serve and uphold the values of service.
Donations:
As a registered charitable organisation, we are dependent on donations, grants, fundraising and sales of sub-Branch memorabilia.
Every little bit helps us to provide support to our veteran population and we sincerely thank everyone who donates their time and money to improving the lives of our community.
Hall Hire:
Our sub-Branch Memorial Hall is available to hire. Several loyal local services and community groups who have become regular hirers of our space; however, if you’d like to support the sub-Branch through one-off or regular hall hire, please reach out us so we can discuss your needs.
